(1e)Designing for print versus designing online.

Which one do you prefer in the future? Paper or Paperless?

It is always an issue around to discuss between pro's and con's for online and physical designations. New technologies create a drastic face change in new forms of publication. “The percentage of print products displaced by electronic substitutes should increase from about 2 percent in 1996 to more than 7 percent in 2006. The print volume lost to electronic media by then is estimated to be nearly $20 billion, the survey states”, (Frenette, 1989). The studies show, messages that transfer digitally via internet or online reached out a larger medium in the same time creating far-reaching impact in the medium compared to physical printing. It is more effective for some organization's to used online method to send out their messages effectively and effciently. Furthermore, online publication was proved to be more cost effective compared to physical printing. “Much of the technology, too, will create cost savings, leading to a 10 percent to 20 percent reduction in the printer's cost of goods that are sold in the next 10 to 15 years”, (Frenette, 1989). Soft wares and processor used in online designation reduced the cost of physical printing, and it also helps enhance the speed of productivity of publication. It explains in a scenario, where you find normal physical printing will be slower instead of online publication, for example, physical leaftlets or brochures versus online advertisement like banners or pop-ups. Which one will be faster and easier to reach out more people? Definitely, the online version of ad.
